Javier Jorge

Javier is an engineer and technology researcher at INTI Córdoba, where he works on applied electronics and computing. His trajectory spans embedded systems, industrial computing, the Industrial Internet of Things, edge and cloud computing, computer vision, metrology and technology transfer.

He holds a Computer Engineering degree and a postgraduate specialization in Distributed Systems and Services from the National University of Córdoba. He is part of the teaching team for the University Diploma in Cybersecurity at FaMAF and FCEFyN, where he leads the module on authentication, authorization, auditing and access control.

Since 2008 he has contributed to INTI’s work on weigh-in-motion systems for vehicles. He participated in developing technology transferred to Argentine companies, drafting technical criteria and evaluating equipment. He also represented INTI on the board of the International Society for Weigh-In-Motion and participated in its scientific committee.

He is the lead author of an INTI technical paper on an Industry 4.0 services platform integrating IIoT devices, cloud infrastructure and real-time analysis algorithms. In 2022 he led technical assistance that integrated industrial sensors from different manufacturers for a Córdoba company that exported predictive-maintenance services to twenty-three plants across Europe and Asia.

He also participated in open computer-vision developments, including a mobile banknote-recognition application for visually impaired people that was shared with the developer community as open-source software.

At AlterMundi he works where networking, software and embedded systems meet. His public work includes development and testing for LibreMesh and OpenWrt, virtual-mesh tooling and ESP32-based projects. In LibreAgro he is responsible for software, backend systems and automation.
