Jésica Giudice

Jésica co-founded AlterMundi and is a founding member of QuintanaLibre, the community network of José de la Quintana. She has worked on WiFi network deployment since 2011 and on fibre infrastructure since 2023. Her practice brings together neighbourhood decision-making, installation and maintenance, technical and social solutions, documentation, and support for other networks.

She coordinates AlterMundi’s network and infrastructure training area. She designs learning materials and facilitates workshops on the management, deployment and sustainability of community networks. In 2022 she coordinated the Seedbed for applicants to the Roberto Arias Programme, which brought together fifteen organizations from seven Argentine provinces. The initiative received first prize in the IEEE Connecting the Unconnected Challenge’s Community Enablement Proof of Concept category.

She brings lessons from territorial work into public-policy and regulatory advocacy. She represented AlterMundi at ITU-D discussions on universal service funds and has participated in APC and LocNet, ANATEL, Colnodo, and the Latin American and Caribbean Internet Governance Forum. Her work advocates for policies that recognize sustainable community-led solutions adapted to each territory.

Her experience also extends into the technical layer of these projects. She held technical and coordination roles in work around LibreMesh, contributed to LibreRouter’s certification process, and produced Spanish, English and Portuguese documentation on network deployment, configuration, monitoring and maintenance.

She brings a gender perspective into training and event organization. Her work seeks to ensure that women and gender-diverse people are not merely present, but participate in decision-making, the design of shared spaces and technical tasks. In 2021 she also taught in a diploma programme at the University of Buenos Aires School of Social Sciences and created training materials for the course.
