Aligment

It offers a tool to evaluate and improve the quality of the wi-fi link between two nodes, the base node and one or more others, within range. It is used both at the time of assembly and during diagnostic and maintenance tasks.

Main screen and associated nodes

Upon login, this is the main screen:

  1. It has two tabs that indicate the range with which the LibreRouter equipment works with.

The selected tab is highlighted in bold.

    • Radio 1. This tab will show the information of the nodes associated with this range, which corresponds to Antenna 1 of the equipment.
    • Radio 2. This tab will show the information of the nodes associated to this radio, which corresponds to Antenna 2 of the associated to this radio that corresponds to Antenna 2 of the equipment.
  2. It provides a list of the nodes associated with the information in a brief way.

a. Provides the name of the node and with which radio it is communicating with the base node.

b. Link quality value. Displays a number that measures the signal strength expressed in dBm (decibel-milliwatts). Anytime the link is lost, you will see a cross.

c. Color line. It is a visual reference of the quality of the link. It can be green if it’s a good quality, yellow or orange, if the quality is medium o red if its low quality.

Display alignment information for a specific link.

Clicking on the name of a node takes you to a screen with the information of that link. It is useful when you want to point the base node to another specific node, obtain more information and not get confused with the other links.

  1. Link quality value in dBM (decibel-milliwatt).
  2. Signal reading speaker. A voice dictates the current signal. t is useful in alignment tasks, to know the value achieved without looking at the display. It can be enabled or disabled from the same icon. 🔈🔇.
  3. Visual reference color line of link quality.
  4. Radio from where it is pointing at the base node.
  5. Name of the node you are aligning against and what radius it is located.
  6. Best signal. Displays the best alignment achieved with a reference of seconds.

To return to the main Alignment screen click the button in the upper left corner of the screen.

When not finding possible links.

If the base node doesn`t show any signal from any radios, it will appear: `This radio is not linked to other nodes, showing the following screen:

When a link loses signal.

The following information will be displayed.
